I kind of blindly chose the book because of the cover and didn’t know what I was getting into. It started off slow but set an understanding of the author’s childhood. It picked up when he started getting into the sexual conquest he experienced in his youth. I thought it would build from there but it kind of lingered in that area. Apparently there are more books to come. But as is… it is written with a very authentic style as though a young guy is telling you his experiences verbatim with no extras added. One qualm I did have however were most of the women were described in the same manner.. “cute face, great body”…

This is an interesting way for women to learn about earning money by winning beauty contests. It is an option for adults, but a difficult choice for tiny girls. The book features interviews with previous winners and shows where they are now.

Human Right #1: We are all born free and equal

This book is a great teaching tool that gives your children confidence about their human rights. The story introduces everyday situations that could violate a person's human rights and teaches children how to handle them. The illustrations are colorful and well done and the story is engaging with an optimistic attitude. This book is the perfect gift and a great introduction to the topic for your children.

Although I feel that Bitey the snake doesn't get a fair shake in the saga (as is often the case for non-U.N. sanctioned animals in children's stories) the thesis of the story is important, we are all created free and equal.

The fundamental message of this book is that "we are all born free and equal." This is the message Albert the dove shares with 3 children who alternate between singing and crying. They encounter a dog, a wasp and a snake who want to cause them harm. Albert teaches the kids to advocate for themselves and claim their birthright of being "free and equal." If only telling bullies and oppressors "we are all born free and equal" was enough to stop them from hurting others! 😔 I would have liked to see more nuanced demonstration of conflict resolution geared towards small children. However the illustrations are very sweet and this book reinforces the vital message of the title. I'd say it's more a book of affirmation than a how to guide. I do imagine this book would be a great jumping off point for a conversation between kids and their parents, guardians or teachers about human rights, claiming our inherent worth and dignity, and standing up for themselves. With it's simplicity and consistent message I'd say this book would be best for older toddlers, preschoolers and not too sophisticated kindergarteners.

Intelligence Mobsters: Journal Entries

Scholars will find useful the journalistic writings regarding national security legislation and its consequences. This book will familiarize you with the bad actors that lie hidden behind sophisticated technology, such as surveillance and malicious espionage.

Mr. Soto claims that his body's frequencies are disturbed by sophisticated intelligence technology. In and of itself, this claim is not unreasonable. Many of the physical disturbances and sensations that Mr. Soto describes are located in those areas where one would expect experienced intelligence technology to disturb the body's frequency. So in that aspect, the book is a valuable personal account, which is what it was intended to be given its title. However, missing from the book is putting the mosaic together and seeing the bigger picture behind why the intelligence technology would choose Mr. Soto as a target. If he were to figure that one out, chances are high, he would thereby rid himself of those disturbances.

These are factual journal entries made by a journalist on his insights on national security law and consequences. The journal takes you through Ricardo's journey as he researches the intelligence community abuses. As the book is based on the fact I thought the entries were very enlightening but difficult to wrap your head around, but, the book is based on highly suspicious individuals hiding behind very sophisticated technologies. This is definitely a unique read for anybody who is looking for something a little different. Too much is hidden it's about time it came out.
